Mr. Wicks

My name is Kevin Wicks, and I am excited to be your counselor during your time here at Jo Lane Middle School.   My journey to becoming a school counselor has been an adventurous one.  After I graduated high school, I joined the United States Air Force and began to meet interesting people from around the world.  It was during this time that I realized I wanted to work with the youth and when I was discharged from the military, I started my educational journey to being in education.

• 11 years of high school teaching experience

  • Social Studies

• Three years of middle school counseling  

• Associate of Arts - Umpqua Community College

• Bachelor of  Education - Ashford University 

• Master of Education - Grand Canyon University  

• Master of School Counseling - Southeastern
  Oklahoma State University

                            Professional Interests

• My goal is for the students I work with to grow not
  only academically but to grow personally to be the
  best person that they can be. 

• Helping students explore the many paths that are available to them through academics and their path to becoming a well-rounded person.

• Creating a positive experience for students while they attend Jo Lane Middle School.
