MANAGE

The MANAGE component of the ASCA National Model consists of program focus and program planning tools that are designed to ensure that the school counseling program is implemented effectively.

USE OF TIME

The American School Counselor Association recommends that school counselors spend at most 20% of their time engaging in school support activities and program planning. At least 80% of a school counselor's time should be comprised of indirect and direct services. According to the ASCA National Model, to ensure that the school counseling program is comprehensive, a use of time calculator can be used twice per year to assess whether or not the 80/20 ratio is being met.

ADVISORY COUNCIL

Jo Lane Middle School would like to enlist members for the

2025-2026 Advisory Council. The advisory council aims for community stakeholders to provide input on the school counseling program through a productive dialogue. Members will participate in a review of relevant school data that will be used to inform program assessment and annual student growth goals. At the end of the 24-25 year, data will be reviewed to evaluate the effectiveness of the school counseling program and begin planning for the 25-26 school year.
